Anneke Ransijn is a Philadelphia-based social worker. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Smith College School for Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University. She has also studied at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.
She is Kirby’s ex-girlfriend and third great love. The two dated during long stretches from the fall of 2022 until early 2025. Kirby has said, “Without Anneke, I’d still be laying in bed depressed for days at a time. To say she restored my faith in love and humanity would be an understatement.” The two remain on good terms and stay in infrequent contact.
Background
Ransijn was born to a Dutch father and an American mother. Her parents met in the Netherlands, where her mother was studying political theory. Despite being nearly a decade older than him, they fell in love and eventually relocated to the United States together.
Anneke grew up in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and attended Wyomissing Area School District, where she was two grades ahead of Taylor Swift. She has one older sister, Lily.
During her youth, Anneke traveled extensively through Europe, often visiting relatives in the Netherlands and other parts of the continent. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Emory University before pursuing her Master’s of Social Work at Smith College.
After her mother passed away from cancer in her mid-to-late twenties, Anneke held several different jobs, including a stint with Green Mountain Energy and a period working as a nanny.
Anneke met Kirby at Ortlieb’s in Philadelphia in the fall of 2022. Not long afterward, she traveled to Mount Kilimanjaro and later embarked on hikes in countries including Slovenia and Norway. In 2023, she returned to social work, where she is currently on track to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
